What If we are the last ones?

We have pretty much a clear view of the moon from any telescope and we had men on It, no signs of life, we sent rovers to Mars and It looks like whatever life would have been there has been long gone

So that got me thinking.. If we somehow managed to check every planet and none of them have life.. what does that mean? What If we really are alone In our galaxy?
