Can a single number be random?

I've been wondering about this for a while now. Imagine you just have the number 1, there's nothing random about that, or is there? But if you generate multiple numbers, 1 becomes just a random part of that sequence of numbers. So does the randomness lie in the series of numbers, or can a single number still be random?
