I've been working on this 2017 NASA budget request outline for a while. I need to expand on the fact that I'm concentrating on the bad part of the negative federal budget pressure only, so to compete against it in the meritocratic federal budget process, those need to be called out along with a trillion dollar level request to get everyone used to the kind of spending needed to upgrade infrastructure and social safety nets (which support startups) for the future, as well as maintaining past infrastructure.
Also I want to add more new projects before I send it to Roy Maizel, Ash Carter, and OMB.
What do you have that isn't already on his list? ("SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!" with apologies to Harmon and Roiland.)
As for me, the main asks are, "(1) an independent space colony as a necessary precursor to both interstellar travel and saving our species from unexpected comets; (2) enhanced exoplanet biosignature imaging interferometric telescopes, including lunar far side and formation flight, and (3) a series of hybrid maglev pneumatic launch assist tubes for lowering the cost of non-human access to space, are all essential budget requests under these conditions."
I think I need to incorporate a more comprehensive climate mitigation plan in the next version. I would also like to get some artificial gravity experiments
Any further suggestions would be most welcome.
