Personal Encounter; want information

Hey, I've never done a reddit post before, but I found this subreddit, and wanted to share my experience and ask if anyone had any information on what I encountered.

When I was 8, I woke up one night with chills going down my back. I was on my back, head faced towards the wall, and wrapped in my blanket like a cocoon. Not tucked in. (Relevant) That's how I ended always slept, and still do.

I turned to look at the room, and literally not a foot away from my face was a being that shouldn't have been there. It was a dark figure, pitch black against the light blue night light. Like pitch pitch black. It had an outline like that of your stereotypical comic ghost. Like round at the top, and straight down the sides. I couldn't see its bottom, as it was obscured by the bed; standing so close. It was approximately 4 to 5 ft tall, but it could have been hunched over.

It was standing there, big red glowing eyes; about the size of baseballs. The type of glowing red from a cars back light on the highway. No pupils or anything, but I could tell I was looking something in the eyes. It's only other observable feature are what I would describe as fangs. Like vampire fangs. I couldn't make out any sort of mouth line, but it had 2 fangs, maybe 3 inches long; white as bone.

I know for a fact that it was there and I wasn't imagining it, because my knee jerk response was to whip my covers over it, and bolt from the room. As I did this they covered something solid, physical. I ran through the hall screaming, my parents got up, dad got the bat, went to the room and it was gone. The blanket was in a pool on the floor.

To this day I have no fucking clue what it was. I haven't found anything online that fits that description, it definitely wasn't a grey or whatever. If you know of anything that matches that description I'd like to know.
