How will Yuri Milner's tiny interstellar probes "beam" data back to earth?

Anyone know how he plans to get data back to earth over the vast distances?

From what I've read, these tiny probes will be the size of a microchip. I can't think of any transmission method that could fit on a microchip that could traverse 4.3 light years without weakened to the point of being completely undetectable.

The most efficient method I can think are lasers, but wouldn't a milometer sized laser pointed at Earth from 4.3 light years away be spread out to the size of Pluto's orbit by the time it reached us?
