For obvious reasons any ETs visiting our world would be in the position to present themselves to us in whatever manner they would choose. They can seem to be virtually anything, and we would have absolutely no way of verifying their claims. A lot of new age ideas seem to revolve around the idea that you should simply accept whatever ETs tell you and that you should not "judge" or be "fear-based".
Of course there is also the complete lack of unequivocal proof to give us all clarity on what exactly is going on in our world. So now you have people who do not believe anything is happening, and you have people who believe that something is happening, but that it must be a good thing.
So, would aliens have any reason(s) to lie to us or to deceive us?
