After watching ancient aliens and reading a few books on ancient astronaut theory, it seems to me that most ancient astronaut theorists believe that the ancient stories where the gods communicated with humans were actually aliens communicating with humans (for example in the book Chariots of the Gods, von Daniken argues that Moses was actually receiving detailed instructions from aliens instead of from god).
How exactly could ancient astronauts have communicated with early humans? Obviously there would be major language barriers, not to mention the fact that aliens probably wouldn't even communicate using words. Is there an explanation that ancient astronaut theorists give on this matter that I may have missed?
