I originally posted this on r/AskReddit, but I was so noobish that I didnt know about the text box rule, anyway heres my question
Pretend that you are part of a type II civilization of aliens. Your home planet is beginning to die and you are sent to explore other planets. You're mission is to search for potential hosts with the right conditions for a colony. However, to ensure the success of the colony, the dominant race of the host planet must be eliminated, neutralizing any possible threats.
You eventually come across Earth (which, for the purposes of this scenario, is bountiful in resources and would make an ideal host planet). You are curious about us humans and learn our language and customs (our politics, scientific breakthroughs, wars, religion, etc.).
Having gained this knowledge, what would you think of the human race? Would you have second thoughts about wiping us out for your colony? Or would you see us as insignificant curiosities (the way we looked at ants as children)?
