We can assume that first (modern) contact will be technological and not physical, but what will it look like?

My thoughts are that we will receive some sort of signal containing basic mathematics, such as Pi, a multiplication table, or a list of prime numbers. However, it could involve creativity, such as music, or some other form of art. Perhaps an image or video of their likeness? Perhaps they wont alert us of their presense, maybe they will just obliterate us, or perhaps a more likely scenario is that first contact has already been made, and we are being left in the dark. What do you guys think first contact will look like?
