There’s a story where a man got strangled by an alien with glowing red eyes, the cell it lives in is always really cold. I saw it on some program. These experts were trying to ask why the alien was still living there. Theory is an inmate died and this alien was angry that its host got killed.
The inmate was screaming there was an alien with glowing red eyes in the cell with him. The guard went to check but saw nothing there, a few hours later his screaming suddenly stopped.
After the alien killed the inmate [there were strangulation, scratch and beating marks on the body of the victim] the superintendent noticed that the dead guy was there when he asked the inmates to lineup so he could count them. The alien began to take the form of the dead inmate. The alien then vanished when he went to count again. People theorize these aliens will 'starve' if they're outside of a body for long, and will fade over time. I'm not sure how true that is, though I suppose that may make it a little harder to capture these benevolent creatures, if they really exist.
