Hello, this question has been bothering me ever since I saw the Reddit post about NASA's plans to send a probe to the asteroid, Psyche 16. They theorize that Psyche 16 is the remnant core of whatever planet broke up to create the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. As a former planetary core, its composed of over 90% iron and nickle which would be worth 10 quintillion dollars on earth.
All I've heard is that it's impossible to bring something like this to earth or lunar orbit, but I'm skeptical of this. Wouldn't a project Orion style craft (able to reach 10% the speed of light using only 50's technology) be capable of moving Psyche 16 to earth orbit?
Therefore, I'm curious if anyone has ideas about how to make this feasible or if it would even be worth it.
