If the earth is flat, then how come we can fly both ways across the globe?

If the earth is flat, then how come we can fly both ways across the globe? I would like to know how people who believe the earth is flat justify this question.

There's been a small resurgence of people who think the earth is flat, and while I find this idea to be ridiculous, I do wish to get into the headspace of someone who entertains this theory. There are many, many sites that claim to fully answer questions like how the earth can still be flat even if you perceive it as slightly curved whilst in an airplane, but I have not found an answer to this question.
