There is no info on the source of the mummies. We don't know who found them and there is no documentation of them being unearthed. Jaime Maussan (world renown alien hoaxer) brought them to Gaia for their documentary.
If you're a farmer, or an average Joe, or especially a researcher and you found some mummies, why would your first call be to Jaime Maussan? The logical thing to do would be to contact a university, museum, or some sort of research center. Not call a guy who's been behind countless alien/UFO hoaxes.
