I've got a question, and not really sure where to ask it...so figured I'd do it here. I kayak quite a bit back in Mosquito Lagoon, but usually on the north end of the lagoon and have never tried to go back in there during a launch. Does anyone know if the area is restricted during launches? There are a few launch spots in the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge that get you pretty far south in the lagoon. A couple mile paddle would get you probably about 5-6 miles or so from the launch pads. Would be cool to watch the Falcoln Heavy launch from there if you're allowed to do it.
I found an old NASA release from 2008 that said the Mosquito Lagoon south of Haulover is restricted within 72 hrs of a launch, but not sure if this is still accurate.
Basically, just trying to figure out an ideal launch point and paddle plan that doesn't get me into deep shit with anyone.
