Weird sounds, red orbs, power outages.
Last night I had just turned off the TV to go to sleep. We live below a flight path and sometimes I hear the rumble of a Jet flying over. I heard what I thought to be a jet but it seemed really close, the rumbling was enough to rattle the windows and it was very slow moving. My curtains were drawn but I could see through a gap and out into the street. There was a red glow from something floating above the houses. I couldn't really see above the houses from my angle. I went to lean out my bed and pull the curtain to look but suddenly there was what sounded like an energy build up and a release. Like a bang but not an explosion, hard to describe. Followed by a total power outage and immediate power reset, then the red glow was gone and so was the rumbling.
I lay awake for a little trying to figure out what the hell just happened and if it related to what my aunt experienced (see below). First thing this morning I looked at power outages for my area last night and cannot see anything.
This also happened to my great aunt a few months back and I thought she was losing it, what she explained made no sense until now. She lives maybe 20 minutes away, just a few suburbs over. Back in December she told me how she saw a red orb (during the day) float above her house (around 10m high) and into the neighbors yard, at which point she says she saw it open up (Not explode, open up intentionally) and "let out sparks" and a large "bang" at which point her power went out. When she peeked over the fence to see any debris, there was none. She called the power company and they said there was a problem in the local area but did not elaborate.
This is not a made up story, this genuinely happened and I am at a loss on how to explain what could have possibly caused these experiences. I have heard of orb lightning before and thought it might be related but there were no storms, just overcast. Has this sort of experience been related to UFO's in the past?
