What would you do?

I have been re-reading the book by Ready Player One author Ernest Cline called Armada and it's gotten me thinking about the question, "What would you do if Aliens one day revealed themselves to Humanity?". Now obviously, this subject is clearly fodder for Trolls, but this seems like it would be an interesting topic for discussion. Now, I don't have any illusions or anything, I have no clue how I would react if this were to ACTUALLY one day happen (since anything's really possible, Aliens could be real, they could not be real, we the Plebian masses have no real way of knowing since Governments can cover just about anything up), but I think I would probably follow this Course of Action/Reaction/Events:

The following Steps would follow immediately after hearing from someone or somewhere of a possibly reliable source, such as from a legitimate news story from a source such as CNN, Globe and Mail, etc etc, about an Alien reveal or similar event

Step 1: Take out my phone, open up Google and then check the news feeds to confirm or deny the event. If it's a bonafide event, then pretty much all the news should look relatively the same: "Aliens are real, Alien object(s) seen hovering over [Insert Location Here]. [Insert Country] military seen swarming on [Insert Location Here]. Reports indicate...." ... You get the idea lol.

Step 2: Check Social Media to see what my friends on FB and such are saying. If theres any real merit, you'll like see a lot more evidence there than on Google (since pretty much everyone would be talking about it)

Step 3: Check Reddit. Similar to checking Social Media, looking here on Reddit would be a way to further confirm information. Now, obviously, pretty much everyone and their mother would be posting all over the place with information, theories, etc, but it's also a location that you can likely almost always get a sliver of truth in a sea of rumor (not always though).

Step 4: Say to myself "Welp, it's finally happened. Guess we can finally stop debating"

Step 5: Grab the nearest beer and down it

Step 6: Go home, boot up my computer and setup my monitors (I have a 4 screen setup) to display various feeds. I would probably have FB on my far Left monitor, a Live Feed of a reliable News Network on my Main monitor, Google News on my Right Monitor, and then Reddit on my Far Right Monitor)

Step 7: Grab another beer from my Fridge and pop the lid

Step 8: Probably assume the fetal position for a unknown amount of time

Step 9: Once finished with the fetal position, call my parents, sister and girlfriend to check to see how they are doing

Step 10: Grab a third beer and pop the lid

Step 11: Continue monitoring the feeds and see what happens next. Probably also call work and let them know I'll be taking a couple of days vacation

Step 12: The next day, I would likely pack my computer up, grab all my non-perishables (and beer) from my kitchen, throw a bunch of clothes into a duffel, grab any medications, drive to pickup my Girlfriend and then drive to my parents and setup for information monitoring and be with my loved ones.

Step 13: Pray the Aliens don't invade and take over the world. 50/50 odds they are either a) here to take over the world or b) be friends (also, those are just super general, the Aliens could come with the intention of acting friendly and then take over the planet later, etc, but I don't feel like typing out all those possibilities).

But yeah, that's how I see myself likely acting lol
