Ethics of Wearing Military Aviator Wings?

I'm hoping to get an Apollo flight jacket replica sometime soon and I want to get a leather name tag for it.

Actual astronauts wore their military aviator wings on their jackets. I've always been under the assumption that it's unethical, or at least ethically sticky, to wear military insignia (wings included) if you're not military. If that's true, what wing logo can I get on a name tag as a non-military, non-aviator? I've considered just getting civilian aviator wings to at least avoid the military side of the question.

I've noticed that Adam Savage (u/mistersavage) has a name tag with Air Force Commander wings on his Apollo jacket. I'm curious what his thoughts are, since he's wearing a military insignia.

Let me know what your thoughts are, or if there's another (or better) place to post this. Thanks!
