I have been accepted to a Langley internship opportunity, and I am looking for some advice and/or tips for me to make the most out of this opportunity.
I will be working on some CFD code with the Hypersonic Airbreathing Propulsion Branch. The code was described to me as "Fortran 2003 compliant code, but with a baseline code structure that looks very much like Fortran 77". I have no experience with FORTRAN, so I would appreciate some useful texts for becoming familiar with the language.
I am also concerned about housing. I was told they would not provide housing, but rather a "housing guide". For those of you who have seen this guide or know about it, I am wondering what information the guide provides. After researching for a bit, I found a website which, in regards to Langley intern housing, states
Langley Research Center (LRC): Wow, you guys get fully furnished apartments! DAMN. If that’s too expensive, Langley also has the usual military housing.
Is this dated information? If not, can you elaborate?
Thanks!
