Were the launch scenes in First Man accurate?

I don't know if anyone in this sub can truly speak to this or not, but after seeing First Man (and loving every second of it) I'm curious to know if anyone who has made that trip on a rocket, or flown a X-15, can speak to the raw terror the movie really showed in those sequences. The sounds of metal grating on metal, the shaking and vibrating and the intensity of it to the point where it seemed like the whole craft would break apart, the claustrophobia of being in those tight quarters with explosions happening behind you. It was the first time a movie really made a launch feel terrifying in it's own right.

The X-15 scene at the beginning, the Gemini launch and the Gemini/Agena abort were scenes that really showed this excellently. Great film.

Outside of this, the fact that you only see space in a lot of sequences from within the cabin, through the tiny rectangular window covered in ice really gave it a sense of authenticity. We were seeing what the astronauts saw. Shoot the film even got the watch Armstrong wore to the moon right.
