According to the ancient astronaut theory, the ancient aliens were some kind of organic humanoid race with extremely advanced technology , capable of interstellar travel. Is it just me or does it seem odd that they wouldn't have been enhanced with , or completely replaced by AI? My guess is they do have AI capabilities but they are controlled very heavily too prevent catastrophe. Or maybe perhaps these aliens were the survivors after AI took over.
