A question regarding the crew safety of sls (x-post from r/spacelaunchsystem. Wanted to get an answer from here as well)

I remember one of the reasons the Ares I was cancelled was that in the event of a catastrophic failure of the SRB; the burning debris would melt the nylon parachute. With SLS also having SRBs, what makes it any different?
