Ok, so I had an interesting theory earlier today about aliens and I want to post it before I forget it - I'm not a scientist or anything so bear with me:

You know how when evolution (supposedly) occurred, like the giant tree of our ancestors with homosapiens and homoerectus and homoflorensis and whatnot?

The different branches are different times so we think we're the most advanced species among the most advanced civilization but what if there was a subspecies (don't know if that's the right term) far more advanced than we are now, like 500 million years ago.

This "subspecies" created the technology to actually go into space and was able to live on planets then they came back here and gave us certain kinds of technology that we lacked in order to help earth advance because we were lacking it.

Like that "natural" nuclear reactor that was found and supposedly hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of years old? What if this "alien subspecies" that went into space created that and messed up the earth with radiation but we don't experience the radiation because it's dissipated because the half life is so long.

They gave us the technology and were the "gods" that ancient civilizations believed in because they looked like us, like humans, but they all died out because of whatever disaster happened to them in space.

Anyway, I was thinking that what if we get so far with science and technology then the planet kind of "resets" itself to stop us from completely destroying the planet. The ice caps melt, the earth gets hot, we die off to a certain extent then it happens all over again.

Perhaps we're the ones living in caves then we start playing God because we advance so much but we're not supposed to so the earth shuts it down.

WE are the aliens.

Well, let me know what you think. I'm tired and I hope I make sense and was able to explain it so you understand.
