I was about 5/6 years old, it was Jersey City, NJ in late June of either 1993 or 1994 around 11pm. I was with my siblings ranging from age 4-14, there was 7 of us playing in the backyard. Since my brother and I were the youngest, we were on a swing set. The rest of my sisters were sitting on a couch in the backyard. (Side note- My father had gotten a new couch and had the old one in the backyard until garbage day - one of those late 80’s wicker couches with giant cushions, black with flower print)
My step mom sticks her head out and says it's too late and we have to come inside. We beg her to let us stay outside longer and she goes back inside. It must’ve been out of habit, but she locks the back door on us.
My brother was about 4yrs old, we were on the swing set and we hear a commotion, we run over to our older sisters and everyone is freaking out saying "omg a white dove just flew over us" "no, it was an albino pigeon" “no it’s a dove it means peace.” Three sisters bickered they were ages 11, 13 and 14. Then my oldest sis teases us how it was was a dove and we missed it, they all taunt us that we would never see a white dove again especially not in Jersey City and especially not at night. So my brother and I decide to pull up chairs next to the couch and wait for the dove to come back.
Immediately after, we hear a loud noise. Basically the same noise you hear when you swing a bat really fast- that whish/whistle sound of the air breaking. But it was LOUD, and continuous. It was so loud like it was bouncing off the houses. It was an unpleasant high pitched sound. Then everything was extremely fast from that point, it must’ve been only a few secoonds but was broken up into several parts that felt much longer. We heard the loud whistle/whish sound, looked up, saw a bright dot in the sky. Instantly there was a ship hovering over the yard next to ours. A ship as in an actual UFO. It went from a dot so high in the sky to hovering a few feet off the ground within literally a second or so. The whole thing was instant. From a sound to right there.
Next we were all standing in a line, side by side, in front of the couch staring at the hovering object. Obviously I don't remember jumping up, maybe you wouldn't remember standing up in that moment you just react. But it was weird we were all lined up next to each other in front of it, and I remember the dog was in front of us, barking at it with her tail between her legs. Then all at the same time, we screamed in unison. Which was the only part that seemed delayed or slow. Then we all frantically run back to the house, screaming and crying to find a locked door. We pounded on the door, and we bombarded my step mom when she opened the door.
Obviously our parents did not believe us... my brother and I were sent directly to bed. My older sisters who were 13 and 14 went back to the backyard and the next door neighbor (who's yard it was hovering in) asked if we saw what he just saw. Apparently he was silently in his backyard while we were all playing in our yard.
Some details about the ship. It was not super high tech looking. It was actually quite bulky, the top and bottom of it appeared to be stationary while the middle part was spinning really fast. There was a row of lights that look “pink and yellow and white” at the time. But now that we have halogen light bulbs, it was more like that, white light that when you look into the bulb at some angles it looks yellow and pink. There was a row of them across the bottom. When I said hovering, there was a huge shed in the neighbors yard and it was almost using it to like glide/hover on top of it. I was really surprised it didn’t look so high tech even for the 90s. It was about 8-10ft wide, maybe 3ft tall. Also I was very small when I saw this. I’m just comparing to the shed it was under which also from memory can seem bigger.
Other points- the reason I mentioned the type of couch is because my siblings and I didn’t discuss this for at least 20yrs. I asked 2 of my sisters about what happened and what’s crazy they both started with the couch being in the backyard. It’s a bizarre detail but for some reason it’s an anchor in all our minds. They were older than me and described it basically the same except they saw the white dove. So of the sibling that were there. Only some of us were blood related and my two blood related sisters are the only one who remember. My step siblings can’t remember any details about that night. And all of us remember a 7th person being there but when we count who was there... no one can remember who the last person was.
One other important note— Jersey City is 7miles from North Bergen NJ. Which for many years was the single city with their highest UFO sightings. There’s a huge park, on 80th street that was known for an alien sighting. Also the surround apt building have many sightings of UFOs. Also many YouTube videos of “fireball over NYC” is actually from NY filming across the river to north bergen NJ. Many speculate that the enormous lake in the middle of the park in an alien hub because it’s only a couple miles from Manhattan and can keep a fairly low profile.
A couple years later, I had a horrific dream that had traumatized me for a long time. I only think this could be significant because of abduction claims Ive read we’re people who seen UFOs have vivid dreams of abduction-like scenarios.
The Dream: my grandma told me to get my mom’s comforter from downstairs. I tell her it’s never downstairs she doesn’t let us take it down there. She says take the dog with you and go downstairs and get it. So it’s completely dark. The light switch was downstairs, so I walk all the way down in the dark. Then I see the blanket. Almost glowing in the dark. I hear something calling my name from inside the bathroom. Whispering in a playful way but unfamiliar. I hear other whispers behind it. I decide to just run to the blanket and get back upstairs. So I grab the blanket and the whispers asks me “why don’t you come with us?” My dog would always protect me but he couldn’t in my dream it’s like the dog couldn’t hear or see them. I walk passed the bathroom holding the blanket to get back upstairs and I look at the crack in the door and I see this glowing creature. It’s not beautiful. It’s hideous. I remember describing it as glow in the dark monkeys. I saw ones face, but it wasn’t super defined, and two others were behind it. I tried to get back upstairs and it sucked me into the room. Then it was dark. They stopped glowing and there was awful mechanical sounds. Like metal crunching and they were so entertained by it and I was stuck in the dark with them doing stuff to me that I couldn’t feel. I couldn’t wake up for a long time I just stayed in the dark listening even tho it was horrifying.
When I woke up I told my family about these glow in the dark monkeys but obviously just a bad dream. They weren’t monkeys though, they were humanoid appearing but like animals in their energy. Their faces and bodies had almost no definition, and their demeanor was like sinister and greedy.
I just had this awful dream and didn’t think much of it until after I read Keepers of the Garden and how Phil the main subject had similar dreams after seeing a UFO. And it was only through hypnosis that he learned the reason for these events and the parts that had been erased from his memory came back as well.
I just wanted to share. Any comments or suggestions to look further into would be appreciated.
