Richard Branson who founded Virgin Galactic back in 2004 has been planning on going to space for the past 20 years and never seems to happen. I believe this has to do with him being overly excited about going to space and not knowing the engineering timeframe.
Anyways, since going public the company committed to not doing time frames unless they knew for sure they can meet it.
Recently they finally announced 2 final test flights for FAA certification of the spaceship this fall and that if successful they will fly Richard Branson in Q1 2021.
Very excited about this as this will launch the commercialization of space. After Richard goes the rest of the celebrities who booked with Virgin Galactic will go.. Tom Hanks, Angelina Jolie, Justin Bieber, Leonardo Dicaprio , etc.
