I've seen many people say that disclosure will be disappointing, small or lies. Well while I do believe that may be right I simply cannot agree with them.
Reason no. 1 : Alot say the ultra rich will be the only ones who have any contact with aliens. Well no that simply won't happen. Think about the aliens they if their here they would want to have a good relationship with earth and they would know the ultra rich no matter how much of good people some of em are they are not in the best light of the people at the moment so they'd want to stretch out their contact with as many earthlings as possible to build a good relationship.
Reason 2 : Now many people say the government will not say anything cause it could cost them power. Again this simply not true. Sure the government while they will loose some of the people's trust because they kept the secret they will also gain some of the trust back as alot will see them as willing to be truthfull. Also revealing aliens would also delay any revolt people would have against them since the government has more experience in dealing with them and IF they bring some of the aliens technology and it helps out alot of people everyone would have even less to revolt against.
Reason 3 : It'll also help the ultra rich as if they are having any shady dealings with the space man they won't have to be nearly as sneaky anymore. Any good business man would see the massive amount of opportunities full on disclosure will bring. The job opportunities for the space force, the aliens can, help us build cities on the other planets which would reduce the strain of earth's own population and many more plus they'd take the credit become even more rich too. Their new more positive image would also protect them from would be attackers who want em dead simply for the fact they are rich.
Reason 4 : Recourse's we all know the other plants have an un-tapped number of natural resources like precious metals and the such. That would also go hand in hand with more job creation plus scientists and aliens producing food on this other planet would lead to more food for other people as well. The rich and government are The ones with the most capital to make it happen at this point so not jumping on this opportunity is stupid as hell.
There is so, much more than must here though plus slow disclosure won't work since we pretty much know at this point people will not believe it unless an alien shows up. Then there's the they'll use it for military control thing. Look. Guys there is no word where people are gonna let that happen and while world governments are strong when almost of the country is against you you ain't winning plus some of em may, be con-men but they aren't stupid enough to believe we can win an interplanetary war at this point.
So ya this is why I believe disclosure will be a big thing. Also not related but does anyone else see that humanity kinda gets put down alot when aliens come up? Even here I can see that or maybe I'm just taking it the wrong way.
