My thoughts on why 'Aliens' keep their distance

My thoughts on why Aliens have not revealed themselves....

1) They have, but we didn't believe them

2) They do not think we are worthy yet(pretty good reason tbh)

3) Do you bother explaining how cars work to ants? Good thing we aren't ants, I always disliked this reason because the person who came up with this assumes everyone is as stupid as they are.

4) They do not yet exist! They are humanoid time travelers from the future! This one is a pretty popular one, but I think it reeks of human hubrism that also spawned various religions i.e "we are so special! aliens are really US!".

5) They do not exist here anymore, maybe remnants of an ancient civilization that left due to a natural or artificial cataclysm.

6) They're all dead! The fermi paradox which is denialism at its finiest - completely disregards any and all reports of UFOs that even the Pentagon has recently confirmed. Unless there is some sort of "conspiracy theory" to convince us of aliens, they most definitely exist.

7) They're caretakers of the universal zoo, this planet is our cage, welcome to the show 😉

8th and my favorite - Life isn't all that 'special' and its pretty common place, civilizations emerge all the time, the reason why we never see any civilizations in the distant vastness of space could be because they camouflage their activities to protect them selves from hostile civilizations, and they hide their activity from emerging civilizations because of some agreement amongst each other, maybe they want civilizations to evolve as "naturally" as possible. This last part makes a lot of sense to us, because people always infer things before they get the complete picture. So they develop opinions and arguments based on incomplete data.

So why is that a bad thing? Well lets look at technology like combustion, its neutral like most technologies, but was applied terribly as gunpowder for hundreds of years before someone figured out the combustion engine. We figured out how to make atomic bombs and still haven't figured out nuclear fusion. So while we have the potential for great discoveries, we often figure out how to destroy things first - then how to be useful. Maybe other civilizations also work like this, and is why there are protocols amongst alien civilizations to monitor emerging civilizations.
