Remember, Biology > Technology. Technology is just a tool to get us started and mastering genetic engineering, unless AI destroys us. I’m assuming these aliens have mastered biological engineering and they farm genetic materials. Genetic materials are probably their currency tbh, especially the consciousness gene.
And sitings began when we started nuking. Radiation corrupts genetic material. They do not like their money corrupted. Go figure.
