It seems so obvious (to me) that we were contacted by Aliens in the past. All you need to do is look around at various civilisations that made structures aligning with certain star systems (all of which are relatively closeby in light year terms).
This may have been first contact for our planet, I.e. once we started harnessing the planets resources like certain metals - this is probably the great filter (with metal comes electricity and so on). There is simply no way we constructed things like the Nazca lines thousands of years ago without technology. Granted most crop circles these days are man-made, but surely certain ancient crop circles are potential aliens leaving behind evidence for us to find, or marking us a protected planet of sorts.
I know we can't use any of this as actual evidence of Aliens because it doesn't align with our current scientific methods, but surely this is literally stone-age evidence of technology well beyond that time period?
