I was talking to a brewmaster telling me about allllllllll the different coincidences that led to us accidentally learning how to make beer in ancient Egypt. While he was telling his story I thought of, and brought up, my sudden hypothesis of; what if aliens gave us the recipe of beer, along with the pyramids (and whatever else). Beer is a rather complex recipe that requires an understanding of science to make. So what if they gave us the recipe, but we couldn’t quite grasp the science behind it, but knew the general concept and just kept trying to replicate various versions of what we were shown, until we figured out how to replicate it. He immediately dismissed the concept, saying he thought ancient Egypt was visited by aliens in some capacity, but thought (as he was taught) that someone just happened to leave some grain in a certain place for a certain amount of time, etc., and drank it, and we eventually figured it out. But my thing is, that is a theory, just like mine; it cannot be proven one way or another, but it is believed as truth, because it doesn’t seem as “silly”. While I don’t necessarily believe this theory, my favorite words are “what if”, I found the immediate dismissal rather annoying, thinking his theory has just as much weight as mine. I think it’s a neat concept, and I could take it as far as “what if” the whole reason we know about the concept of aliens, from the Roswell crash, was from one too many beers. Cheers! Edit: I’m not trying to rewrite history, just a lighthearted concept in hopes that people can be more open minded and at least think about possibilities before dismissing them.
