January 2nd 2017 Glacier lagoon, Iceland. right side of the lagoon (from the road), facing direction of Norway. 4:30ish pm so sun was setting but there was still decent amount of light.
Looking up, I see what I assume to be a bright satellite moving fast in the general direction of the moon (on my left iirc). It moves fast and on a dime changes direction; a sharp up and left motion, then just stops.
My details are fuzzy but I remember it just to the left and under the moon as the sun was setting on my right ish. I watched it for 15 or more minutes until we left, it never moved again. None of my friends seemed to have the slightest care in the world and I’ve been wondering what it is for the longest time.
