I have heard many hypothetical situations talking about aliens originating form our oceans. I don’t want to go too much into detail, but ocean life seems far more intelligent than land life. If humans are able to evolve from apes, imagine the kind of life that could evolve from let’s say: an octopus. Just for comparison, studies have proven ravens to be just as smart as chimpanzees, despite the huge difference in brain size(which doesn’t always indicate a difference in intelligence).
