COAST TO COAST AM - July 20, 2021. In the first half, Robert Zimmerman, a science journalist and historian, discussed the anniversary of the original Apollo Moon landing on July 20, 1969, as well as the latest news on the space projects of billionaires Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson, and Elon Musk. Blue Origin launched its historic first crewed mission earlier in the day, flying Bezos and three other passengers (including 82-year-old female aviation pioneer Wally Funk) into suborbital space and back. Starting in September, there are privately-funded orbital missions scheduled for practically every month, Zimmerman marveled, with some selling tickets to wealthy citizens. These include SpaceX flights for a company called Axiom, which is planning to build space hotel modules (initially attached to the ISS).
