Andrew Hunt is an engineer and professional scuba diver with a passion for the underwater world, its awesome power, wonder and challenges. Andy takes us on a personal journey exploring the role of the humble native flat oyster in the Solent, a once abundant but now rare mollusc with a function as seawater filter that could help turn the Solent Blue. An expert in subsea engineering and marine renewables, Andrew is a keen sport diver with a diving ‘career’ spanning 30 years and is passionate about UK diving. His vision is to engineer a sustainable future and turn the Solent blue. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
