Ever since I was a wee chillen I’ve had this memory that I can’t explain. I always attribute it to a TV Show that I watched and it stuck in my brain because it terrifies me.
The scene:
A young boy is sleeping in his room. He is wearing pyjamas. The moon is unnaturally bright and it lights up the room through his window. It is Summer. Suddenly, the boy wakes up to a large friendly squirrel sitting on his window sill. The window is open and the large squirrel waves for the boy to come outside into the yard. The large squirrel jumps down into the yard and the boy follows. In the yard, the large squirrel hops over to a large tree in the centre of the yard. When the large squirrel gets to the tree, it opens a hidden door in the trunk of the tree. The large squirrel then looks at the boy and waves for the boy to come and get into the tree with him. The boy does so. Suddenly, the tree morphs into a space ship. The squirrel is not a real squirrel and the boy gets abducted. That’s all I remember.
Everyone I’ve asked says they don’t know this scene or what show it could be from. No TV archives or nuts have helped. It’s not the end of the world if you can’t figure it out either, it’s just so strange to me. I don’t trust squirrels… or trees.
