What would be the smartest career for me to pursue if I have a deep passion for understanding and learning about the universe?

I'm a Highschool senior and I have always loved learning about, reading books on, basically anything to do with the stars and universe. I've always wanted to be an astrophysicist, but after reading a similar post, it seems there isn't really a lot of astrophysics jobs. So it got me thinking if that was my smartest path? So should I continue on my lifelong goal? Or should I go into a more promising field, that still satisfies my fascination with the stars?. Any feedback would be great. Thanks again.
