I don't think aliens have been visiting people, mainly because of how they are said to look.

Aliens typically get portrayed as being these hairless, grey, human like creatures. Assuming these can be considered "animals" of some sort, why the hell would they look ANYTHING like us? It took billions of years of evolution for us to look the specific way we do. Every part of the way we look was just a circumstance of the environment we lived in.

Outside of our closest animal relatives, no other animal on earth looks remotely like us. Yet "animals" from a different planet, a different evolutionary timeline, maybe not even based on DNA, somehow looks more like a human than a chimpanzee looks like a human? Yeah fucking right.
