The drive home

This happened when I was in 5th grade. My mom and I were running errands, and it was around 6 when we finished up and started our drive home. The store was about a 15 minute drive if you took the back roads. It was early June so the sunset wasn't until around 8. The sky's were starting to get darker as we got closer to home. We were about 5 minutes away when the vibrating started. We were stopped at a stop sign and all of the sudden my chest started to hurt. It felt like when somebody has the bass up too high and you have trouble breathing. It felt like somebody was pushing my chest down. I looked at my mom, terrified and she was holding her chest too. We pulled over and got out of the car and then the gravel on the road started to bounce. It didn't bounce very high, but it was noticeably going up and down.

Two cars behind us also had pulled over and they were describing the same feeling my mom and I were having. Then all of the sudden we saw it. Something in the sky. It was completely round. I remember it was spinning so fast that it started to give me a headache. There were green and red lights on the rim of the object and since it was rotating so fast, the colors were blending together making me dizzy. The noise it was making was like nothing I had ever heard before. It sounded like the word whoosh, over and over again. It was so unreal I didn't even know what was happening. Then it was gone. It was there one second then it was just gone. All I saw was a twinkle, like a star in the far far distance. I never let my eyes leave the flying object, I didn't see it fly away I didn't see it slowly disappear into the sky it was just GONE. This was 12 years ago and to this day I do not understand.

We saw it in our local newspaper the following week, but I do not feel comfortable providing it because it has the town that I still currently live in all over it. Believe me or not. To this day the hair on the back of my neck stand up straight when I drive on the road. I hate that I saw something that I couldn't explain. I know it wasn't human. I know it wasn't. It looked like it was from the future. It looked like something that none of us will ever see in our lifetime.
