Are unrelated research experience and community service experience valuable in getting a NASA internship?

I am applying for a web design internship, but I have a public policy research project that I helped a postdoc with for an entire month. I have also been working at a community center since August last year. I'm wondering if these experience, which are unrelated, are still valuable to the selection process.
