From what I’m seeing online, the Pyramids of Giza were constructed over a 60 year period (roughly 2550 to 2490 B.C) (about 20 years per pyramid).
So my question is: Is there any compelling alternative theory, saying the Giza Pyramids are older? I did see they did carbon dating of wood from ‘Khufu’s Boat’, buried alongside the Great Pyramid, and it produced a date of 3400 BC. That’s older – older enough to probably mess up conventional history – but probably not old enough to suggest the Pyramids were built by an ancient, unknown civilization. Also, the carbon dating is disputed (which would be expected).
If there is no real evidence the Pyramids were built by someone other than the Egyptians in the conventional time period, I think it should end any real credibility to the Atlantis/Ancient Astronaut theory of early history. Because there is nothing in the Ancient World more impressive than the Pyramids of Giza – no wall, no artifact – and if we know for sure the Ancient Egyptians built them and during the time period they claim , there’s no “there there” to the Atlantis/Ancient Astronaut alternative.
