[Discussion] What stories do you see as true, and what stories do you see as false? And Why?

There are many different testimonies about people in contact with E.T's over the years. Some may be true, other stories are perhaps bullshit. But where do you make the comparison between fact and fiction?

For me, I can say that I definitely believe in E.T's. Given what we currently know about the universe, it's statistically impossible for us to be the only planet with life. As for visitors... well... I really really want to believe. I have a skeptical mind however. I believe that what people claim to know about aliens can be proven just as much as it can be debunked. (Does that make sense?) So as a result, while I might be excited to read an article on it or watch an interview, there's usually this doubting voice in the back of my head saying it could be bullshit. Maybe that's a good thing seeing as we shouldn't always take things at face value, maybe it's something I should work on. I haven't really decided on that yet.

Even though it might or might not be real, I like reading about different alien races like the Greys, the Tall Whites, the Arcturians, the Council of Nine (which is apparently now the Council of Five). Because at the very least it can be good for critical thinking. And it's fun to think about it.

But that's the thing right there. It's fun to think about it. We humans are curious animals. And we're social. So part of me wonders if I believe in Aliens because as a Human, an animal that thrives on social interaction, finds the idea that no aliens exist would be rather scary and depressing, or because it's becoming almost impossible to deny. I'm not talking about primitive life on other planets. There's definitely life out there. I'm talking about visitors. For the time being, if asked if I believe in visitors, I say yes. Because the pattern I picked up on was that ever since we started nuclear technology, there were more reports of UFO's. It would make sense that we... got someones attention. (Or one could say that the government started working on more advanced technologies, but I lean aliens because why not)

So I decided to ask members of this sub what they think. Where do you draw the line between fact and fiction?
