I might be looking at a UFO help please

Hello everyone. First i didnt know where Else to post this. Im not interessed in aliens or anything like that so its not like i seek it. But here goes

I was up late playing games with a friend and around 5 in the morning we decided to call it a day. I look out of my window and a plane was flying in the distance. But then it flew around in strange formations and changed color between green and after some time to red and did it a couple of times - kept speeding - then stopped - then flew around again around the same place. After looking at it for 15 minutes it flew down close to some buildings and just vanished. after that i was texting a friend because i found it odd and it re-apeared and flew upwards like a helicopter taking off just much faster. And now its back to circling around the same area again. I suspect it to be a drone of some sort but i have no idea. Have anyone experienced something similar or know what it is? It has been there for 20 minutes now. Further info its around 2-3 kilometers height if i had to guess.
