Okay. So I know exactly what I want to do in life but have no idea how to get there and what the best options are. It's the age old issue, and I need help.
So my ultimate end goal is to become an astronaut (obviously). A sub part of that end goal is to save/make as much money possible on the path there. (I'm aware of the odds of actually getting to achieve this goal, I have a whole other post about my backup plans)
Currently I am a college student, transitioning into my 2nd year of obtaining an ECE degree; maybe even a Masters, we'll see. I'm thinking I want to get my pilots license so that I can have a better shot at what I want to do, and my basis for doing it (despite the impossible odds of actually using the skill to become an astronaut) are for two reasons. 1) Even if I don't put it to use, being a pilot is still pretty awesome. 2) If I do it through the military I can get my tuition paid...?
Basically I need confirmation that my logic is sound, and if it is what route should I take to achieve this goal? Military or civilian? If military, which branch? If civilian, what does that even entail? Should I start now or wait until I graduate? Should I have started before college? Should I give up on life altogether??? These are the important questions.
Sorry for the novel, thanks for reading.
