Giordano Bruno: Heretic of the Infinite (Totally Awesome History)
In this episode we look at the life of an ex-friar turned philosopher in the 16th Century, Giordano Bruno (1542-1600). Going against the dominant ideological trends of his time, Bruno believed that the universe was infinite and that the stars were all suns with planets, and the planets had life on them. His ideas would get him excommunicated and invoke the disfavor of the Roman Inquisition.
