I can find a boatload of PDF files of documents from that era discussing lunar range finding data but all they seem to provide is raw data without any mile or kilometer values. MIT conducted a successful laser experiment in 1962 but I can't uncover their findings in laymans terms. Were they relatively accurate from the get-go?
