I am finishing my 4th year undergrad electrical engineering in Canada (canadian citizen), but i applied for the JPL internship positions. They said no security clearance required and i selected that i would need a visa sponsorship.
Anyway, I received an email asking for an interview. My questions are, for engineers who work there:
- Do they actually hire Canadians or do you have to be a US citizen?
- What are intern salaries like? Glassdoor shows $18/Hr which does not look reasonable at all for such organization and California in general. My Canadian normal engineering internship was at $25/hr. Are full time eng positions also this low?
- The person said they're looking for fall/spring interns. In canada, Spring is May-August ish. I believe in America, thats January-April. If it's the latter, I will still be at school and wont be able to accept if i get an offer, is it possible that if they do like me, they would talk to me about a full time position starting in May (that's when i graduate)?
