Why do objects and hair float and move around on the space station?

I was watching a few NASA and space videos and I noticed the astronauts hair and items would float around in random directions. That would be understandable but considering there is zero gravity why would they float in multiple directions in the first place and not just stay completely still, since there is no force to move objects into different directions?

I'd prefer a simple explanation if at all possible please!
