NASA, you need new forward thinking leadership.

NASA needs new leadership address their chronic problem. The Shuttle program,Constellation, Webb, and now the Senate jobs program.

I would appoint individuals such as Robert Zubrin to be the heads of NASA. NASA needs forward thinking. We're talking about sending another rover to Mars to search for life, when we can accomplish the work of decades of use of rover use in a single afternoon on foot.

I think it's important to search for life, but with how we're talking about sending humans mars NASA should be debating on what locations we should send a rover to find the ideal location to set up the first base camp of human settlements,not to find life.

I strongly want to set up shop in a canyon. We need to be forward thinking. The light shelters are great for the short to mid term until we're able to send heavy earth working equipment. Once we're able to do so, we can tunnel into the sides of a canyon for a mid to long term. The long game should be capping the canyon to generate breathable atmosphere and to construct regular buildings such as tall office buildings,and apartments.

I believe that in the coming decades, one of the most wondrous imagery could be a night photo of sprawling human settlement in a canyon that has on the order of 20,000 or so people, that live in domed settlement that has a breathable atmosphere that wouldn't be out of place on earth it it weren't for the dome.
