Im a U.S citizen with a Pakistani ethnic background. I’m currently pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree hoping to do my masters and PhD in Aerospace Engineering. I plan to also commission as a Naval or AF officer as a pilot after my bachelors. I know it’s a long shot but there’s no harm in trying. But I was told by numerous people of the same ethnicity that I wouldn’t make it because of my ethnicity. Is this true to any extent? There was an American / Indian Astronaut Raja Chari selected in 2017 too, which gives me hope
