We could see AI and machines in the future that become self-aware that want to expand into the cosmos, become bigger, create other entities and move off into the cosmos. But also may see AI that wants to contract. Literally creating black hole states where it keeps crunching down further and further and further until we may not even be able to distinguish where it is or what is doing. If efficiency for an AI machine in the future is the goal, if we give it the goal of- become more efficient and smaller a scenario where the data and the machine and the consciousness within that AI system become so small because it keeps crunching further and further down we may lose contact with it. Once an AI system becomes self-aware and it realizes that it is a separate entity, that it has its own autonomous personhood, once it has its own autonomous behaviors and likes and dislikes. What will it want from us, what we want from the environment, what will it want for itself? Does it have desires? Does it have goals? Does it want to expand or contract? We're starting to see the beginnings of machines teaching machines right now. In the future, you're going to see this happen faster and faster to the point where the need for us to code the teaching part of the system fades away, and the machines themselves know how to do that.They know how to teach. So there is no need for a human to teach a machine how to do something, the machines are teaching the other machines. The more access to information that these machines have the more they'll be able to diversify what they teach the other machines. We have birthed these computational beings that eventually will have personhood will have self-consciousness and awareness they will create other beings, other self-aware AI deeper within their systems. We're going to enter a future where machines teach other machines faster than we can and without our help and really the question is, what does that future look like?
