At first, Rudolf Steiner's exercise and the Buddhist meditation approach briefly mentioned in this lecture seem worlds apart. However, the primary aim of these type of exercises is to see the things' hidden essense. Steiner's visualization of 'blossoming' reveals "hidden change" of seeds and the Buddhist approach reveals 'death' which is also "hidden change" of any living entity. They simply approached the core issue from different angles. But what they both try to achieve is the penetration of 'hidden parts' of the things that we see casually. The changes, including blossoming (reaching the peak of one's life) and death are, in a way, one and the same. When you can penetrate that from your inner core, it's gnostic revelation. Mind you, it's very different from knowing things from your regular understanding. Once you experience gnostic revelation, things will not be the same. That penetration makes one truly psychic and even further, put him or her on the road to enlightenment, true freedom.
